No place like home, and especially if Barcelona is home ☀️ The beach, Costa Brava, and all the pan con tomate you can eat, is waiting for you 🍷🍅⛱ Looking forward to having you back in the neighborhood ♥️👋
Parisian by blood I started to be happy when I left it. It is a tough one and people who haven’t lived probably can not understand. It is not for everyone: its drop dead gorgeous and f*cking miserable at the same time.
Plus Diego will get the tostadas-total win: Average bread + olive oil + cheese on a good day :)
My life has spanned five countries and 29 houses. Many spectacular and I am extremely fortunate but…..the last move has been the hardest and I know I won’t stay. It’s needing a sense of belonging and going home is the best feeling in the world. Bon chance!
I’m not surprised. I was sure you would move back. I’ve loved following you in Paris but I will continue to do so in Barcelona and I look forward to seeing more of your lovely apartment there…oh and Diego too of course!
Really happy for you. What a lovely realisation to come to, to know where you want to go. So looking forward to all the Barcelona tips - I’ve never been.
So beautifully written. Your sentiments about Paris are widely shared among French people. I'm looking forward to stories and lovely pictures of floor tiles from Barcelona.
I’m so excited you are going back to Barcelona it’s my ❤️ City and though I always loved Paris I never wanted to live there … we totally get it and can’t wait to see you back in Barcelona 🤩🙌🏻
I totally understand! I have never lived in Paris but have visited on many occasions and when leaving I always have the lonely feeling that I missed something! It is one of the Worlds most beautiful cities but to me it didn’t perform and left me feeling a little isolated and disconnected from its soul. So many people adore it so why didn’t I?
I wish you all the best in stunning Barcelona which has a vibrant and bohemian beat. It’s one of my favourite cities together with not so well known Lisbon. If you haven’t visited this beautiful city you really should! On my first visit it felt so familiar, it was like returning home to a house filled with warmth and comfort. This city has totally stolen my heart and I’m fine with that, as it means it pulls be back again and again ❤️💕❤️
We can relate in more ways than one to your story, Gemma.
Paris- yes, has beauty with strong overtones of haughtiness and froideur. A place to admire but not embrace in our experience. Barcelona is up there with Sydney and LA as the favourite places where we have lived- all beach cities of course, but each in their own way with far more going for them than that.
Breaking up with the world’s most beautiful city
Barcelona is my soul city too! 12 years since I lived there. Still in mourning. Can’t wait to see your Barca apartment back on the grid x
If you take the 👌 pictures I 'll follow 🤓

Much better than a baguette served with no smile!

Good for you Gemma, your guts have spoken and you listened. Diego will forget about those tasty baguettes in no time!

This is so relatable and good, honest insight for someone who dreams of moving abroad! Nothing tops the magic of Spain 🇪🇸
